Carson River Bridge Launch

This video shows the launching of a 140 bridge across the Carson River.  The remote location made the use of cranes very expensive.  The abutments for this bridge are supported on helical piers.  This significantly reduced costs by eliminating the need for traditional pile driving equipment.  The unique abutment design also reduced the concrete volume by over 50% from the original design
