Retaining Wall Repair

This is a really cool retaining wall repair application using some of our favorite techniques.  This retaining wall had cracked and was in danger of failing.  We used Carbon Armor stiches to reinforce the old retaining wall then shotcreted a new finish over the old wall to add strength and improve the wall aesthetically.  Shotcrete is an excellent application here because it is the only method of placing concrete that allows the new concrete and the old concrete to be bonded.  If this wall were cored after it cures it would be virtually impossible to find a joint between the new and the old concrete.

This house is built into a hill and the dirt under the crawlspace is damp/wet for much of the year. The previous owners put a french drain around the property, which gushes with snow melt. Water will still come into the garage at the peak of the melt (few mm). There is a musty odor in the lowest level living space and down the stairs to the garage. There are two 'doors' for crawlspace access in the this stairway and one normal door in the lowest level living space which contributes. We are new owners since Dec'20. Last year I picked a bucket of white mushrooms; there are minimal amount this year. Thank you.

I have a small cabin in tahoe city. 500 sq ft with a crawl space that is ~3-3.5ft tall. The property has poor drainage right now and the drip line of the roof drops snow and rain right against the cabin foundation. The dirt in the crawl space is staying moist far to long and I would like to look at some way of keeping the water out of the crawl space. Weeping tile or french drain or sump.
